Novak Djokovic Wins Men's Record 23rd Grand Slam Title at French Open

Djokovic Defeats Herbert in First Round

Novak Djokovic began his French Open title defense with a solid if not spectacular victory over home hope Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The world number one secured a comfortable win over wildcard Herbert in the first round on Tuesday.

Historic Victory

Djokovic won his men's record 23rd Grand Slam title on Sunday with a 7-6, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Casper Ruud. He became the first man to win all four Grand Slams twice in the Open Era.

The Serbian star ended Rafael Nadal's reign at the French Open with a four-set win in a classic semi-final. Djokovic, 36, has now won the French Open three times, along with his titles in 2016 and 2021.
